Rest day.
Plenty of rocking motion and white caps …
We decided to have breakfast port side as our room is starboard - the view is the same on both sides: water as far as you can see. And - can you believe it: it is not raining and there is some sun.
We attended a ship’s lecture on the Vikings in the morning.
FUN FACT:
Vikings didn’t wear horned helmets; they wore helmets (sometimes) but not horned ones.
And we do a couple of lectures late afternoon and evening - topic: the Faroe Islands (tomorrow’s destination).
The Faroe Islands are midway between Norway and Iceland, NW of Scotland. Irish hermit monks arrived here in the 8th century (?) 400 years before the Vikings. They are a self-governing nation under the external sovereignty of Denmark even though they had a referendum in 1946 where a narrow majority voted in favour of independence; the result was over-ruled by the Danish king and a new parliament agreed to home rule.
Thus we keep ourselves occupied. Including walking the exercise track that circumnavigates the ship - 4 laps = 1.6 kms so we set ourselves to do 10 laps, losing track of the number at several points; in theory we should have walked 4 kms; we also took the stairs most times today.
Dinner. Relax whilst the ship rocks side to side through a 3-4 m swell. Bed.
Walked 6.68 kms.

Well I’d be sea sick for sure!! Glad you are enjoying yourselves!! Cheers Jenny
